Imported shutters look the same and take a lot longer to arrive.
What blockout, light filtering and sunscreen actually do
Nearly everyone picks one of these three, and nearly everyone picks it from the name. Watch the blinds come down.
SunscreenCuts glare and heat while letting you see out. It stops people seeing in, but only during the day.
Light filteringSoftens the light and gives you privacy, but you cannot see out.
BlockoutStops the light and gives you privacy day and night. Bedrooms, and any room with a television in it.
Plenty of windows end up with two of them on one blind. We work out which room wants which when we come out to measure.

Property managers and real estate agents
Most of our work comes from Newcastle and Lake Macquarie agencies, and a lot of it is repeat.
Email the job through and you’ll usually have a blinds quote within 24 hours. When the owner says yes, we come back and install it.
Roller blinds and verticals go in within two to three weeks. Ring us if a property has to be listed or tenanted sooner. If the fabric is in stock, we can put the order through as an emergency, which the factory charges 10% extra for.
Homeowners doing the whole house
Renovating or moving into a new build usually means every window needs covering at once.
The samples come to you, and we quote the whole house in one go.
Most whole-house jobs use more than one product. Sheers through the living areas, blockout in the bedrooms, shutters in the bathrooms. It all comes back on the one quote.
Nothing gets ordered until you have seen the fabric in the light of your own rooms. We’ll leave the samples with you for a few days if you want to live with them first.
You cannot pick a colour under shop lights
There is no showroom, and that is deliberate.
A fabric that looks warm under fluorescent tubes in a shop can look grey in your lounge room at four in the afternoon. You would not know until it was up.
We bring the samples to your place instead. Hold them against your own wall, in the light of the room they are going in. Happy to leave them with you for a few days if you want to live with them first or get different opinions.

No. We carry the full sample range out to you, so you see each fabric in your own light before you choose. If you want longer to decide, we'll leave the samples with you for a few days.
How long does it take?
Roller blinds and verticals take two to three weeks from the day you accept the quote. Curtains are four to five weeks. Shutters are two to three weeks if they are Australian made and eight to ten if imported.
Can you do it faster if the property has a deadline?
Usually, yes. If the fabric is in stock, we can put the order through as an emergency, which the factory charges 10% extra for. Ring us rather than using the form if you are up against a date.
What does a full house cost?
Blinds usually land between $1,400 and $3,500. Curtains between $5,000 and $10,000. Shutters between $6,000 and $18,000. What moves it most is the fabric you pick and the size and number of your windows. Your free quote gives you the exact figure for your house.
Do you work with property managers and real estate agents?
Yes, and it is most of what we do. Quotes on blinds usually come back within 24 hours, and we carry $20 million public liability.
What happens if something breaks?
Ring us. Everything we fit is covered: roller blind fabric for five years, curtain fabric and stitching for three, and polymer shutters for thirty. Our own installation work is covered for twelve months.
Outside that, we'll still come and have a look.
Are the blinds child safe?
Yes. Corded blinds are supplied with the safety devices required under the Australian standard, fitted as part of the installation. If you have young children, ask us about cordless and motorised options when we come out to measure.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Coming out, measuring and pricing the job costs you nothing.
